How do I know if an offer of work is legitimate?
An offer of work from a legitimate source should appear and "feel" professional in
every sense imaginable. A genuine producer, for example, should be willing to
furnish his or her credentials upon demand (unless of course they already enjoy a
respectable public reputation), and should have a verifiable track record, website,
postal address, and/or catalog of previous works. At no times will a legitimate
offer be accompanied by a demand for money, your private time, or conditions
that seem in any way suspicious. As a general rule, when in doubt you should
always ask questions, conduct research, and feel free to reject offers that do not
appear to be from a legitimate source.
